Natural England Landscape Character Assessment - The Wandle Valley

Natural England's Vision – A vibrant and valued landscape in which people recognise and are inspired by the natural and cultural heritage of the valley and its river.

The Wandle Valley has a wide variety of landscapes linked by the common thread of the River Wandle. The appearance of these parks and riverside spaces changes with the seasons but they provide year-round opportunities for exercise, education, and tranquil relaxation.

Natural England, the government agency responsible for landscape and nature conservation, has just completed an assessment of the landscape character of the Wandle Valley. This will help address challenges, such as climate change, and develop opportunities, including the potential Wandle Valley Regional Park. You can view this document below.

They carried out a consultation to find out what you think are the key natural aspects of the Wandle Valley and how you think those natural areas could be improved.

The consultation period has ended, however we do welcome your feedback.
