24 Aug 2010LondonA new beehive has buzzed into Stewarts Road Adventure Playground in Larkhall, Lambeth, as part of a Well London Healthy Spaces project that is now in its third year. Nine thousand bees and one beehive have been introduced to the local community, with bee keeping training being provided by Luke Dixon from www.urbanbeekeeping.co.uk. Twelve locals including three school children came forward to be taught about how to care for the bees and their beehive this summer so that it can produce a healthy supply of honey.

02 Sep 2010Haringey The transformed Russell Park in Wood Green, Haringey successfully launched on Thursday 26 August with an official opening and ribbon cutting by the Mayor of Haringey, Councillor Eddie Griffith.
27 Aug 2010Greenwich Over sixty residents of Woodville Estate in Blackheath, Greenwich, ventured out to enjoy the annual Woodville Estate Fun Day on Saturday 21 August. There was fun for all the family with a range of activities throughout the day including face painting, a bouncy castle and football tournament, as well as a delicious barbeque. Environmental regeneration charity Groundwork London worked in partnership with Greenwich Council and Greenwich Community Games and residents to deliver the event.

16 Aug 2010Merton The Wandle Valley Low Carbon Zone put on a Big Green Sunday show on 15 August for residents living in the borough's first Low Carbon Zone - Phipps Bridge and Cherry Tree estates in Mitcham. Groundwork London's Green Doctors were on hand providing advice on energy efficiency at home, recycling, composting and water use.
21 Jul 2010London A new collection service for reusable household items will soon be up and running across four London boroughs. The workshop will double as a training centre where unemployed 18 to 24 year olds can gain valuable experience and qualifications.
16 Jul 2010Islington Residents of Asker House Estate on Tufnell Park Road, London, celebrated the opening of their new food growing space on Thursday 8 July. The former empty space has been transformed into a communal gardening area of raised beds.
